Pledge To Protect

Two simple pledges that save native lives. Join our Cessnock community taking action for wildlife.

Pledge to Protect is our community education program for the Cessnock LGA, sharing two small changes that make a big difference to local wildlife. At stalls and events across the region, our volunteers will talk you through both pledges, answer your questions, and help you make the change — no cost, no catch, just a healthier backyard for the animals that share it with us.

Made possible by the generous support of others

Thanks to Cessnock City Council, we’re building a community of people wanting to take a pledge to protect wildlife in the Cessnock LGA.

Who can join?

To be eligible, participants must:

Reside within the Cessnock Local Government Area
Sign our pledge to protect register at a local community event
Report any sightings of wombats out in the daylight to our 24/7 rescue line

Acknowledgement Of Country

We acknowledge the Awabakal, Worimi, Darkinung, Wonnarua peoples as the Traditional Custodians of Country on which we live and work, and their connections to lands, waters and communities. We pay our respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
