Little Sid the Wombat
This tiny 500g Wombat was rescued by the NATF
Wildlife Rescue Service from the side of the road at Laguna.
He was lying in a pool of water next to his dead mum who had
been hit by a passing motor vehicle. After days of
heavy rain, he was so cold and thin that at first it was assumed
he was dead. He was treated for hypothermia and dehydratation
and is now drinking milk from a bottle.
Little Sid is looking for a sponsor as he will
need lots of care and attention and will be with the NATF Widlife
Rescue Service for at least 18 months before he will be old
enough to be released.

Millie the Yellow-Bellied
Glider
This juvenile female glider was found caught by her gliding
membrane on a barb wire fence west of Cessnock. She was very
stressed, dehydrated and in poor health. Listed as a threatened
species, this docile glider has a distinctive, very long fluffy
tail which she grooms continuously to perfection despite her
poor health. Millie is currently on antibiotics and will be
in care for another 4 to 6 weeks while damage to her gliding
membrane and tail heal.
