Benny
Reason taken into care:
Benny wombat came in at 171 grams from Martinsville, in the Hunter
Valley.
He had been in his dead mum's pouch for three days before being
found. Benny has proved to be a real little fighter, as he was
very dehydrated and freezing cold. With the help of the NATF Wildlife
Rescue he is stable and putting on weight rapidly as womats should.
Benny will be in care for at least 12 months before he moves on
to his pre-release site where he will stay for several months
until he is around 18kgs before being released back into the wild.
Benny is progressing well - now up to 3.5Kg and
seen left with a "friend" - Wilma!
